The urinal in the men’s washroom is an area of hygienic concern. Many units are fitted with a timer or even a manual flush system. These systems can create a situation where men are faced with what resembles an open sewer.
Timer systems are set to flush after a certain interval of time, regardless of the number of users. This means that urine can accumulate in the trough and introduces the risk of cross contamination between uses as a result of splash back. The manual flush system relies on users remembering to flush or the same condition can occur.
The accumulation of urine in the bottom of the trough creates both short term and long term odour problems. The short term odour arises from the volume of urine, the long term odour from the deposition of uric acid on the urinal surfaces.
The Initial Hygiene Water Controller resolves these issues by sensing the presence of each user and flushing the urinal following the departure of a pre-determined number of users. This system works particularly well in conjunction with the Initial Hygiene Sanitiser and with each flush the urinal is sanitised ready for the next user.
The Initial Hygiene Water Controller also assists in the reduction of water consumption as the urinal flushes when required unlike the timed flush systems, which will flush when even no one has used it.
We look forward to being of service to your business.
